Dean Macey

Dean Macey has been England’s leading decathlete for a decade.  His first major triumph was a silver medal the 1999 World Championships,  which helped him win the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year Award in that year.  The following year, he was fourth in the Sydney Olympics, and followed that with a World Championships Bronze Medal in 2001.  He was again fourth in the Athens Olympics, before winning the Gold medal in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.  He has a personal best of 8603 points.  He was also a semi finalist in Ready Steady Cook!

interest in schools' Athletics, raising levels

of involvement and aspiration. Dean Macey

brings experience of two Olympic Games, and

many years as England's leading decathlete.
