Leading School Sports Trips

with Andy Weston

Thursday, 23 November 2017
Central London
Course Level:

The focus will principally be upon visits involving an overnight stay, but will also consider risk management of day to day sports fixtures. The course is based on the UK National Guidance produced by the Outdoor Education Advisers’ Panel specifically aimed at school trips. A section of the seminar is devoted to Government advice and the Panel’s guidance in light of recent terrorist attacks.

Adopting National Guidance removes the need for each employer or establishment to write and maintain their own comprehensive guidance and gives users easy access to regularly updated and nationally recognised Guidance. The content of this Guidance is endorsed by the Health and Safety Executive, and also by the National Association of Head Teachers.

The seminar is dually certified by ICE and the OEAP.

Andy Weston has more than 25 years of experience as a Director of Sport and Educational Visit Coordinator in a variety of schools in the UK and Internationally. He now manages PADSIS and PALOES (The Professional Association of Directors of Sport and Leaders of Outdoor Education respectively) and consults in a number of related areas.
