RUGBY Courses For Teachers

Programmes of Rugby coaching courses run annually in October and June.  They cater for coaches at all levels of expertise.  Recent presenters have included England coaches Andy Robinson, Brian Ashton, Joe Lydon and Phil Larder.

 

They can also be arranged as INSET sessions for individual schools or groups of schools. Please enquire for details

Building a Core Skills Programme

With Tosh Askew

An in-depth look at contemporary individual skills, and the methods by which these are developed at the National Academy.  This course features a skill based philosophy, with a wealth of practices to develop modern techniques and a coherent programme of skills coaching for the whole school.

Coaching School Rugby Teams

This is a course for teachers and coaches of age group teams from Under 11 to Under 15.  It will provide skill drills and practices to develop modern techniques, safety in contact and an understanding of modern back play.

 

Be confident that your coaches are providing players with stimulating practices, modern techniques and safe and up to date strategies.

Tag Rugby

With Tosh Askew

A course for teachers introducing the Tag game to young players.  It will focus on the Tag format to introcude rugby skills, and using small sided games to develop these.  Teachers will be provided with a range of warm up and skill development material, and will be prepared for coaching, game organisation and refereeing.  Suitable for teachers of little experience of the Tag format.
