Introducing Dance in Schools

This course is designed for teachers of dance, regardless of experience, who are looking for fresh ways to deliver this area to Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. Focusing on two of the most accessible dance styles, it will also provide example lesson plans, music ideas and content in all three areas.

·      Creative Dance - creative dance uses a huge range of stimulus which can be taken from within the curriculum or other sources; perfect for those teaching dance who have no formal dance training.

·      Street Dance  - street dance is incredibly popular in schools at present. Using contemporary music and moves it can be a great way of getting reluctant children into dance, great for targeting boys, and can be a worthwhile cardiovascular work-out.
