Jon Bleby

Jon Bleby won 95 caps for Great Britain and England. He played in the GB team which finished fifth in the Beijing Olympics. He had previously played in the 2006 Commonwealth Games and World Cup and the European Cup of 2007. He later played in the team that won the gold medal in the 2008 Olympic Hockey Qualifying Tournament. He has won three national Indoor Championships with his club and played in European club competitions both Indoor & Outdoor.

  • Significant recent rule changes have created difficulties for school umpires. The introduction of the self-pass and changing rules regarding free hits has caused confusion at many levels. This course aims to equip school umpires with a firm understanding of all Rules - both old and new. Additionally, this course provides practical advice for teachers umpiring school hockey, aimed at encouraging not just knowledge of the Rules, but also the confidence to apply them with empathy at all levels.
