Caroline Park works with nurseries in Gloucestershire developing Child Movement Programmes.  She was previously a lecturer at Manchester Met University working in Child Movement and coaching.  As Head of PE at Millfield Prep, she was in charge of developing the pre-prep PE programme. Subsequently she was Director of Sport at Cheltenham College and now she is Head of PE at Cumnor House School.

This is a popular course, and is aimed at both specialist and non specialist teachers of the

Early Years age range. It equips teachers to use fundamental movement types to build

coordination and movement vocabulary.

This basic physical literacy is then developed towards games skills through the

introduction of balls and other implements.  The course will help teachers of this age

range plan a programme of activities to develop vital skills in all pupils.

» Developing movement patterns

» ABC foundations

» Controlling children in the gymnasium

environment

» Movement vocabulary - in words and

actions

» Adapting equipment and challenges

» Stimulating coordination

» Origins of games skills

» Creating a coherent early years

programme
