Introducing Racket Sports

There are no course dates in this sport at present. However, courses can still be arranged as an Inset session for individual schools or groups of schools. Please call for details 015395 60060.

Racket games are notoriously difficult for small children to master. Creating rallies and meaningful games, especially for the less able, in a constant challenge for teachers at this age group.

This course takes a new and different approach. Instead of making adult games smaller, it builds up a range of skills and challenges with adapted rackets and implements to enable all pupils to experience success and play games that are enjoyable and active.

The foundations of all significant racket games are covered, enabling schools to add coaching programmes in tennis, badminton, squash and fives as pupils mature and progress. This material will challenge the most able pupils, whilst at the same time allowing the least able to master basic skills and enjoy a sense of achievement
