Refereeing Rugby can be a daunting prospect for the inexperienced.

This course aims to instil confidence that the schoolteacher referee can create a safe environment, which

is enjoyable for the players, spectators and the official himself.

It will help develop understand of what the referee is seeking to achieve, and how he can contribute to improving the quality of the game for all involved.

There is an emphasis on communication with all parties, providing practical advice which allows the referee to create a framework of safety and equity in which rugby has the best chance of breaking out.

In addition to providing an understanding of the laws and how to apply them, this course also considers the concept of materiality and how this can be applied to enhance the game.

This course is entirely classroom based, but includes extensive DVD illustration, both of the laws and of practical refereeing.
