Sedbergh seeks to appoint a dynamic and innovative PE teacher to be Head of BTEC Sport. The successful candidate will also teach exam PE throughout the school, and contribute significantly to the coaching of sport.
The School offers BTEC Level 3 in Sport, at Foundation Diploma and Diploma levels. There is a significant number of candidates each year. There are also multiple PE sets in each year at both A Level and GCSE. Over 100 candidates take examinations in subjects offered by the PE Department annually, and results are amongst the best in the School. There is a large department of PE teachers and sports coaches, and outstanding facilities. PE and Sport has its own, dedicated classroom block.
Sports provision at Sedbergh is exceptional. There is a very strong culture of both participation and performance, in a wide range of activities. Teams feature regularly in national finals, and each year players are selected for representative honours. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the coaching programme: there is a preference for a candidate with experience and expertise in Netball.
