Developing and Managing a Sports Scholarship Programme
Dates & Venues

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we do not have any courses scheduled. We will be releasing dates as soon as regulations change.

The place of Sports Awards in schools has changed significantly in recent years. They have grown enormously in popularity and scale, and have become the norm for a great number of schools. This has created a very competitive marketplace, as well as some confusion of purpose. There has been a shift of emphasis away from simple fee discounting to building a programme of benefits to develop each performer. The place of scholarship and means-tested bursaries has become confused. The most able pupils are in great demand, and are often considering several possible schools. There is however, a wide range in the quality and effectiveness of these programmes. This seminar looks at the entire process of building an industry leading Award scheme, encouraging applications, running a selection mechanism based on the science of talent identification and then optimising the contribution of Award holders once they are in the school.

This seminar is intended for schools who currently operate an Award programme, but wish to improve its impact - as well as those seeking to establish one for the first time.
