Track and Field Athletics is becoming the most popular summer option in many schools. It is one of the most accessible GCSE practical options. However, progress in the technical events is often limited. Dean Macey, one of Britain’s all-time greatest Decathletes, shows how teachers can make these activities exciting, stimulating and challenging.

This two-day practical course is accredited by British Gymnastics and is available for teachers and teaching assistants who hold a QTS or formal qualification or for individuals working towards these qualifications. This course qualifies secondary teachers to teach gymnastics skills appropriate for key stage 3 and 4, focusing on partner work, body management and the importance of safety.
